Was he a selfish bastard at times? Can you give me a 'hell yes'?! I loved Camryn's ability to work through her issues with Glenn to find the positives in her life and to learn how to grow and become the person she wanted needed to be. I'm not sure I'd be able to succeed having been in her shoes. Of course everyone loved Reese.
Well, I thought he was kind of a dumb ass myself. However, he came full circle. Thank you for allowing me to read and review this book.
Love, Carry My Bags is worth the read. It was beautifully written and seemed more like reading someone's journal. It was a story about real life. I liked all of the main characters: Camryn, Reese and Glenn. They were all good and bad in their own way. I thought that Camryn was interesting and enjoyed watching her grow from a teenager to a wise woman. She learned the importance of how 1 decision can shape your whole life. Reese was so sweet and exactly what Camryn needed until a family tragedy occurred.
When he explained later on, it was so aggravating to hear his excuses why. I felt like instead of leaning on his supposed love and having her be their for him, he just gave up everything. Although I did not like Glenn at all during the book, I do think that he was a strong character. He helped Camryn to become the stable, grounded person that she was. Very interesting story and true to life.
I have to write this review and I am going to keep it simple. This is a must read book! Author did an amazing job. Heartfelt and very real at times is how I describe it. I am glad I read this and so will you. This book is in a genre that I typically wouldn't read, but I'm glad that I picked it up and read it. The book, for me, started off a bit slow, but that may be because I typically read thrillers that start off with a bang.
But once Camryn was off to college, Ms. Everett had me guessing! Just when I thought I knew what was going This book is in a genre that I typically wouldn't read, but I'm glad that I picked it up and read it. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, it didn't. The book had me wondering what was coming next. In my opinion, this book is about life - communication, marriage, divorce, aging parents, etc.
There's a major lesson within it that communication is key. Communication, or the lack thereof, played out throughout this book with the three main characters. This is also a story about a woman growing up, someone who didn't really know who she was in her younger years but who took life's lemons and lessons and eventually figured out just who exactly she was.
It was a pleasure watching Camryn discover herself and become a strong woman who wasn't afraid to speak her mind and call it like it is. The ending, although also a bit long for my liking, was satisfying. Again, I thought I knew exactly how this book was going to end, but it didn't end that way.
And I'm glad it didn't; the ending was much better than the one I was expecting. I know there's not a lot of details here and that's because I don't want spoil anything! If you're looking for a satisfying read, pick up this book. Apr 22, T. Sometimes there is a book that comes along that will take your breath away because all the emotion in the writing.
This is a book that will do that for you. We follow that characters in this story from high school to middle age. Reese, what can I say, you let the love of your life getaway because of your problems you thought you could handle on your own. Glenn, you just waltzed in and smiled your smile and stole away many years of the love that should have been someone else's. I had a love, hate Sometimes there is a book that comes along that will take your breath away because all the emotion in the writing.
I had a love, hate thing for Glenn but in the end he won me and his love over. Camryn you went all your young life in love with the perfect man and then fell in love with another who caused you to have love and heartache. All of these major characters went through life living and learning as they went.
Sometimes life doesn't always hand you roses but you must go on no matter what. The lessons in this story is what really happens in real life. This writer wrote an emotional story that had me smiling, crying and wanting to shake the characters because they couldn't see what was right in front of them. If you haven't read this amazing story, you need to. It is a must read story for everyone to read. This book is very long but I couldn't put it down once I started it.
It kept me up late and I still didn't want to stop reading it. Now I have to start the next book to see what happens next to this characters which is called: Read this book for the second time this year. I wanted to add that everything I said above is still how I feel about his book, even after rereading it.
It has my emotions all over the place, again. This book hits home in so many levels. Life can be hard but we must keep going and strive through it.

Never let anyone make up your mind for you, just be yourself and never turn away from it. If you haven't read this book, please do so now. You will not regret it for one minute. Love, Love this amazing story!!!! Must read for anyone!!! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This book did not contain the storybook drama and romance of many NA novels today. There was no underground fight rings or sexual assault to make the story dramatic. This novel was written as if the author could have been writing about life. This story told of the everyday trials and tribulations experienced while growing up.
How to handle long distance relationships and how to handle marriage and family when neither party is completely happy. This may not sound interesting to every reader but to me, it was perfect. I laughed, cried, and gasped more than I have with any other book out there. What I enjoyed most about this book, is how relatable it is. Such a close bond as teenagers, but losing contact with each other until they were adults. To me, this is a true love story.
It is young love that is so strong, it can survive decades apart. The one thing I did not like in this book was Glenn. I can also relate to this verbal abuse by a spouse which is why I disliked him so much. I can relate to the mental pain and anguish that Camryn felt. Although he may not have been the best husband, he made Camryn better, a fighter for her own rights. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As other readers have mentioned, the beginning started off slow, but those slow chapters built the foundation for the rest of the book. I give this book 5 stars. Everett is a fabulous writer and has joined my list of favorite authors.
I highly recommend this book. I absolutely love Camryn! I feel like I know her. I know exactly how that feels especially when fighting with Glenn.
I love all the letters that were written between Camryn and Reese and her letters with her friends. Reese is a fabulous character. There were many times I wish I could have thrown something at him. Reading this story made me look back into my own past loves and friendships. It made remember how tough marriage can be at times and how blessed I am. This is a must read love story! This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster so be prepared… have the tissue box close!
This book was a very simple read for me. But it's not a quick read It's complex and amazing and frustrating and a really good read Camryn fell in love with her best friend. The person she thought she would marry and have kids with. While she was still in high school.
She never dreamed of wanting anyone else other then Reese. Life doesn't always turn out how you believe it will. Or how you want it. Years later Camryn marries Glenn. The person who showed his true colors from the start. He showe This book was a very simple read for me. He showed what a whack job he was from the very beginning. And Camryn overlooked it. Because she wanted love so much. Most of us can relate to loving the wrong person. I know I can. But those relationships of drama and arguments and of confusion, teach us the most.
- Simon: a Decline and Fall of the English Landed Gentry;
- Author C. R. Everett - Love, Carry My Bags.
- Kate: The Making of a Princess!
The relationship taught her how to be strong. It made her realize how she wanted to be loved. The best way for me to sum it up is. Sometimes you have to endure the rain in order to get to the Rainbow!! Loved this beautifully written story of Life's ups and Downs! You Got to Keep Reading It.. Love, Carry My Bags Don't put it down! The Title is very reveling at the end of the story, But in the beginning you wouldn't know.
This story takes you thru the Loves and Losses of a Girl to a Woman, Takes you thru a struggle with an issue many face either for their selves or their loved ones - ADD. But it's not just about that issue.. Everett does an amazing job with the journey her main character takes.. Will she find happiness or will it stay elusive as it seems to be.. All of these questions will be answered thru the twist and turns of the story.. Time will tell the outcome.. The support characters help build the story and add to the realism of it..
You'll love some, you'll hate dislike others, you'll question their judgement.. Feb 06, A. This book consumed me for the past twelve hours CR Everett made me laugh, cry, and relive every good and bad decision I've ever made in my life. During the last half of the book I prayed okay, I cried profusely that Camryn would get the ending she so deserved. I'm not going to spoil anything, but please trust me, that you HAVE to read this book. It was beautiful, it was painful, and it was cathartic This book was unique. There were no unnecessary drama, overly theatrical scenes and unreal emotions.
Instead, the plot built like a slow, steady simmer and was absolutely brilliant at the end: Love, Carry My Bags was a good read. It manages to capture your attention eventually although a little slow at first and reels you into it's world and takes you through a mesmerising journey. Oh and the characters were extremely realistic and I could relate to them.. Simpl 4 beautiful stars Simply put, this is a good read and will not disappoint you.. What an emotional rollercoaster. This book was incredibly written.
It took me a few chapters to get into it but it was so worth reading. I loved reading Camryn's story, it was so real and at points it was like reading about my own life. There were points in the book where things felt like they had slowed down but i was so drawn in that it was easy to overlook. I laughed and cried and felt many of the emotions as they presented themselves in the book. I recieved a copy of this book for an honest What an emotional rollercoaster.
I recieved a copy of this book for an honest review. I just finished this book on Thursday and I have to say bravo to the author! I found this to be a a poignant tale of one woman's journey from child to woman, from naivete to maturity, from insecurity to confidence, and her realization that all is not always as it seems. For anyone who has not yet had the chance to read it, please do, I highly recommend it. The writing is excellent, the characters are engaging, and the story itself takes you on a journey, both external and internal, that showcases a woman's heart and mind, and what shapes us into who we are. I received this e book in exchange for an honest review. I had a really hard time getting into this book. It took multiple tries for me to stay with it. I could only manage one chapter at a time because I was honestly pretty lost for the first chapters.
After that though, the story really takes off and I couldn't put it down! It was such an emotional roller coster. It is I received this e book in exchange for an honest review. It is soooo good Apr 06, M. I enjoyed this book, but initially it was difficult to say why. I was frustrated with Camryn who could have changed her situation, but I understood why she didn't. I was angry with Glenn for knowing he was wrong but doing nothing to put it right, but I understand why, and throughout the book my brain was calling to Reese to come and sort it all out.
And that's why I enjoyed it. This is a tale of normal people, with normal feelings and failings, dealing with everyday life as best they can. Recommen I enjoyed this book, but initially it was difficult to say why. Alright, I'm not very good at writing reviews so here it goes. This book is fantastic! I went from laughing to crying to all emotions in between.
The book was well written and flowed nicely, you knew where the characters were and how they felt. Highly recommend this book! Dec 12, C. Those having a lost love or challenging relationship or who love an inspiring come-from-behind story. Love, Carry My Bags, is a bittersweet tale of lost love. I wrote it intending it to be a meaty and meaningful read that would keep readers thinking after flipping the last page.
Apr 22, Stephanie- The Boyfriend Bookmark rated it really liked it. I am not going to lie, this book had me really debating the love, honor and cherish til death do us part marriage vows. It made me question true love and love out of convenience. It made me question whether two people should stay together despite everything showing them how wrong they are for each other. This book made me question Camryn until the very end, but in the end, I admired the strength she showed even with all of the personal debates she held within herself. This is more than a story.

I know there's not a lot of details here and that's because I don't want spoil anything! If you're looking for a satisfying read, pick up this book. What an emotional three part story!
- Dorm Room (Confidential) (The Confidential Series Book 1).
- Love, Carry My Bags by C.R. Everett.
- Spiritual War Cornersville III (Archangel III Book 3);
First you get Camryn's story as a newly graduated teenager, keeping in touch with her love, Reese, by written letters as she spends a year abroad as an exchange student. Their relationship was perfectly sweet! After she returns, distance and other life circumstances seem to impede their romance. Letters are less frequent. I loved this idyllic time in her life. It couldn't get any better than being young and in love, with the rest of your life ahead of you.
The second part is Camryn's college experience, meeting Glenn, and her adult life. This relationship is tumultuous at best, but surprisingly, she learns a great deal about life and some of the positive things she wouldn't give up for anything came from it. This second part was poignant. This could have been anyone's real experience with how life isn't always as ideal as you envision in your youth. Relationships aren't perfect, people aren't perfect.
The third part takes us into her midlife and how she really discovers who she is and what she wants. I'm not going to say more, because I absolutely do not want to give anything away. You just have to read it! I feel like C. Everett has a sleeper hit with this one, so I highly recommend riding this rollercoaster! I can't say I loved this book, nor did I hate it, but I was not indifferent either, so basically, I am undecided! It's a biographical novel about Camryn, from when she was a young teenager up until her mid to late 40s. In the first part of the book, we learn about her teenaged life, love, and friends, her year in Australia, and her relationship with her first love, Reese.
Love, Carry My Bags
The prose is written in Camryn's voice, which is sometimes rambling, but realistic. She is an ordinary girl, who comes from a slightly odd family with a religious fanatic mother, growing up in the hinterland with cows and farm fairs. She is in love with Reese and stays with him through most of the first part of the book.
Theirs is not a passionate or fantasy romance, but gentle and rings true. Although sometimes it can be a little dull to read the same things feelings, reactions over, as we do in this book, especially when the events are recorded in an every day, dull, monotone, which is Camryn's style. The rest of the book deals with her life in college and beyond, and her unhappy marriage. She was damaged by the relationship ending the way it did with Reese, and her latching on to Glenn was a way of belonging again.
See a Problem?
Her family disintegrating with her dad's poor health, and her mother's craziness, also contributed to her insecurity and dislocation. All in all, it was a well written book that felt very realistic, and you really got to know the main character in great depth. But I am not sure I would read it again or recommend it to friends, mostly because it was at the end of the day kind of dull. See all 52 reviews.
